Women's Volleyball: Velazquez named CAC Setter of the Week again

GWINNETT, GA. – The Continental Athletic Conference announced earlier today that Fisher College sophomore Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) has been named the conference's Volleyball Setter of the Week. This is the second time this season that Velazquez has been recognized by the conference after being named the Setter of the Week back on September 5th.

Velazquez was dominate as she led the Falcons to an undefeated, perfect 3-0 week. She dished out 88 assists across nine sets for a 9.78 assists per set average. In the team's three set win over Rhode Island College, Velazquez recorded 32 assists and a 10.67 assists per set average followed by a 29-assist performance in the straight set victory over Castleton University to cap off her week. In the team's first game of the week, a three-set win over Albertus Magnus College, the primary setter handed out 27 assists.

The Falcons will return to the court tomorrow evening as they travel up to Henniker, New Hampshire for a 6pm contest at New England College. For the official release from the CAC, please click here.
