Women's Volleyball: Falcons suffer setback at Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Volleyball team dropped a contest this evening over Eastern Nazarene College, 3-1 at the Lahue Athletic Center. The loss sends the Falcons to 19-7 for an overall record. Eastern Naz. slides to 17-1.

Senior Macy Barnes (Duarte, Calif.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons with 11 kills and 19 digs. Senior Aya Al-Juraishi (Walnut, Calif.) and freshman Alicia Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) added 6 kills a piece. Senior Ashly Velazquez (Downey, Calif.) gave 4 kills and 5 digs in the loss. Sophomore Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) also chipped in with 19 assists and 13 digs for Fisher.

Eastern Naz. was paced by sophomore Elaina Baran (Beaumont, Calif.) with 17 kills and 9 digs and freshman Andrea Aceituno (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) provided help with 13 kills and 16 digs. Freshman Hailey Wright (Brighton, Colo.) contributed with 17 assists and 12 digs. Grad Student Amya Altman (Butler, Pa) also chipped in with 10 assists and 14 digs in the win for the Lions.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court later this week. Fisher will be hosting a conference match against Washington Adventist University on Sunday for a double header starting at 12pm. Eastern Nazarene will be hosting Lesley University on Saturday with an 11am start.
