Women's Volleyball: Falcons edged by Regis in five sets

WESTON, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Volleyball team dropped the contest to Regis College this evening, 3-2 at Regis Athletic Complex. The loss sends the Falcons to 22-8 for an overall record. Regis rises to 19-11.

Senior Macy Barnes (Duarte, Calif.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons with 18 kills and 17 digs. Classmate Ashly Velazquez (Downey, Calif.) gave 9 kills, 5 assists and 15 digs in the loss. Freshman Alicia Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) gave Fisher 8 kills. On the defensive end, sophomore Edsyl Irizarry (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) contributed 5 assists and 22 digs while sophomore Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) also chipped in with 31 assists and 32 digs for Fisher.

Regis was paced by senior Rite Dow (Nashua, NH) with 18 kills, 4 service ace points, and 6 digs. Following Dow is an all around effort by junior Ahnasia McKinney (Chelmsford, Mass.) having 14 kills, 33 assists, and 14 digs. Senior Olivia Pacheco (Waterford, CT) had 12 kills, 7 service ace points, and 13 digs while sophomore Kamdyn Tenorio (Irvine, Calif.) gave the Pride 12 kills and 30 digs. Freshman Kaitlyn Miller (Nottingham, NH) chipped in with 27 attacks and 12 digs.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court on Saturday. Fisher will be traveling to Chicopee, Mass. to play ELMS for a 4pm start. Regis will be traveling to Norwich University to play at 11am.
