Women's Volleyball: Falcons continue to roll with win at Salem State

SALEM, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Volleyball team won the contest this evening over Salem State University, 3-0 at Richard O'Keefe Center. The victory sends the Falcons to 5-4 for an overall record. Salem State slides to 2-7.

Senior Ali Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons with 11 kills and 6 digs. Freshman Natalia Ramirez (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) gave 7 kills, 3 service ace points and 8 digs in the win. On the defensive end, senior Edsyl Irizarry (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) contributed 2 serve ace points and 9 digs while senior Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) also chipped in with 6 assists, 4 serve ace points, and 7 digs for Fisher.

The Vikings were paced by freshman Bella Coccia (Westfield, Mass.) with 4 kills. Following her is sophomore Haley Phillips (Haverhill, Ma.) and junior Gracie Dailey (Peabody, Mass.) with 3 kills. Senior Eva Haralabatos (Melrose, Mass.) contributed 12 assists and 5 digs while Dailey as well as freshman Keira Doherty (Woburn, Mass.) had 6 digs a piece in the loss for Salem.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court later this week. Fisher will be traveling to Maine this weekend for a double-double header against University of Maine Fort-Kent on Saturday with a start time of 4pm followed by University Maine Presque Isle on Sunday with a 1pm start. Salem State will play on Saturday against Vermont State Johnson at 11am.
