Women's Volleyball: Falcons earn straight-set win over Lesley

LEXINGTON, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Volleyball team earned a win this afternoon over Lesley College, 3-0 inside Minuteman HS. The victory sends the Falcons to 8-6 for an overall record. Lesley will slide to 0-4.

Senior Ali Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 6 kills as well as a block. Freshman Natalia Ramirez (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) also added 5 kills while senior Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) dished out two blocks. Senior Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) and freshman Alondra Farinacci (Ponce, Puerto Rico) gave 7 assists a piece. Senior Edsyl Irizarry (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) also chipped in with 13 digs and 4 service ace points while sophomore Sofia Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) added 10 digs and 9 serve ace points in the win for Fisher.

Lesley was paced by senior Candace Ellis (Boston, Mass.) with 2 kills. First-year Korinne Hall-Johnson (North Brunswick, N.J.) gathered the team high of 11 digs along with 2 assists. Sophomore Shae Thomas (Clayton, N.C.) followed by adding 2 assists, a serve ace points, and 8 digs in the effort. First year Alawnah Dunda (Fort Ann, N.Y.) chipped in giving 2 serve ace points to the Lynx in the loss.

Both teams will be back in action this week. Fisher will be traveling to Nichols College on Wednesday for a match starting at 7pm. Lesley will be hosting Husson University on Friday for a 7pm start time.
