Women's Volleyball: Falcons remain red-hot with wins over VSU-Johnson

BROOKLINE, MASS. – In a dominant performance, Fisher College defeated Vermont State University - Johnson in straight sets with a final score of 3-0. With the victory, Fisher improved their record to 11-5, while Vermont State Johnson dropped to 3-11.

Game One: Fisher College 3, Vermont State University - Johnson 0 (Final)

The set scores were 25-10, 25-20, and 25-19.

For Fisher, senior Alicia Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) led the offense with 6 kills and 7 digs. Freshman Natalia Ramirez (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) added 6 kills, 6 digs, and 2 solo blocks, while junior Caroline Saucier (Sarasota, Fla.) also contributed with 6 kills. Freshman Adriana Franco (San Juan, Puerto Rico) registered 9 assists, and senior Edsyl Irizarry (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) recorded 4 serve aces and 8 digs, showcasing her strong all-around performance.

On the other side, Vermont State Johnson was led by freshman Aubrey Villa (Odessa, Texas), who recorded 8 kills, 12 digs, and one solo block. Freshman Delaney Gross (Quechee, Vt.) had 11 assists and 8 digs, while sophomore Sasha Khomutetsky (Los Angeles, Calif.) added 8 digs. However, the Badgers couldn't break Fisher's defensive and offensive rhythm.

Game Two: Fisher College 3, Vermont State University - Johnson 0 (Final)

The set scores were 25-12, 25-17, and 25-19.

In this match, Tkach was once again a standout for Fisher, tallying 8 kills and 9 digs. Freshman Alondra Farinacci (Ponce, Puerto Rico) contributed 6 kills, while senior Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) dished out 12 assists and served up 3 aces. Irizarry was a key defensive force, recording 18 digs and 2 serve aces.

For Vermont State Johnson, graduate student Natalia Medina (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) led the charge with 11 kills and 2 blocks. Villa contributed 6 kills and 13 digs, and junior Max Ludlow (Arvada, Colo.) added 7 kills and 10 digs. Despite their efforts, the Badgers couldn't overcome Fisher's strong team play.

The Falcons will return to the court to play against Massachusetts Maritime Academy on September 28th at 5:00 PM. Vermont State Johnson will host SUNY Delhi on October 12th at 11:00 AM.
