BUZZARDS BAY, MASS. – Fisher College women's Volleyball earned a dominant 3-0 win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-19. Following this victory, Fisher improves to 12-5, while Massachusetts Maritime drops to 3-12.
Leading the way for Fisher, senior Alicia Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) had a remarkable performance with 18 kills and 14 digs. Freshman Alondra Farinacci (Ponce, Puerto Rico) contributed 14 assists and 10 digs, while senior Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) tallied 12 assists and 6 serve aces. Senior libero Edsyl Irizarry (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) showcased her defensive prowess with 32 digs and 3 serve aces, and sophomore Sofia Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) added 14 digs to bolster Fisher's defensive efforts.
For Massachusetts Maritime, freshman Alanys Torres (Caguas, Puerto Rico) led her team with 7 kills. Junior Shayla Narodowg (Wellington, Colo.) had 14 assists, while senior Audrey Manning (Hanover, MA) recorded 15 digs, and junior Erin Donlan (Durham, Conn.) added 12 digs. Despite their best efforts, the Buccaneers couldn't match Fisher's all-around team performance.
Fisher College will next face University of Massachusetts - Boston away on October 2nd at 6:00 PM. Massachusetts Maritime Academy will return home to face Fitchburg State on October 1st at 7:00 PM.
