The Lady Falcons Lose For Just The Second Time This Season In A Rematch With The Bengals

Boston, MA- The Women's Basketball team lost for just the second time this season and it was one they would like to soon forget. The team shot just 25% this afternoon from the floor and was unable to connect on a single 3-pointer throughout the game (0 for 18) and lost in a rematch with the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals (10-1), 62-39. Fisher won the previous meeting back on November 3rd, 77-67 to hand UMFK its only loss of the season. The Bengals came out with a game plan that paid off as they were able to cool down the hottest team on the Fisher campus. The Falcons could not catch a break throughout the game as they had many open looks, but the ball would not drop and it would prove to be the difference in the contest.

The Bengals got out to an early 10-0 lead from the tip-off and would lead 20-6 after the first ten minutes. The Falcons clawed their way back and brought the lead back to ten at 20-10, and then again within 12 with :12 seconds before the half, but that would be the closest they would get the remainder of the contest. UMFK would lead by as many as 31 minutes into the fourth quarter with 6:41 remaining, but the Falcons would tally the last eight points of the game to close it out 62-39.

Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, CA) led the way for the Falcons with 15 points to go along with six boards. Eggers has now scored in double figures her last five games. Vivian Lara (Norwalk, CA) had nine points, six rebounds and a pair of steals in the losing effort. The Bengals were led by Tajaheray McMahan and Trinity Washington who combined for 32 points, 20 rebounds and six steals in the win.

The Lady Falcons will have a chance to re-group as they do not play again until after Christmas when they head South to take on Webber International, Warner, and Ave Maria.
